This year the focus of our four days will be on making extended forms. We’ll explore different ways of increasing scale, and look at a variety of surface treatments from texture and slip patterns to anticipating the flow of glaze over the pot. Larger forms offer huge potential and enjoyable challenges for the potter, balancing technical considerations with great scope for expression, from purely decorative to wonderfully practical.

Suitable for intermediate potters, or early throwers with moderate experience but big ambition!

There will be four sessions; an evening, a long afternoon and two days, giving the opportunity for more sustained making, taking advantage of overnight drying time.

Thursday 9 July 6-9pm; Friday 2-7pm; Sat & Sun 10-4.30pm.

Course fee: £225 to include materials, drinks and light refreshments. The studio is situated in the centre of Salisbury, with many cafes and shops close by for lunches.
