Throwing Day *FULL*

Clay prepared, wheel ready to go; a day of throwing practice ideal for beginner and intermediate adult potters. This course will help to improve your understanding of both the potential and limits of your clay, by focusing on the principles of throwing success: accurate centring; controlled raising of the wall and consistency of technique. Through demonstrations and one-to one tuition you’ll be encouraged to use the clay efficiently through repeated practice of a form.

At the end of the day work can be taken away (bring a box or crate with you) saved for finishing on a return occasion (firing fees will apply) or treated as practice and the clay reclaimed.

Course numbers are limited to five. Each student is allocated a wheel and workspace. You will be asked to take a Lateral Flow Test before attending.

£84 includes hot drinks and biscuits; you can bring lunch with you or visit one of the many cafes nearby. For more details and to check availability and book a space (deposit required) please contact me here.

Jugs, Mugs and Jampots for Christmas!

The only thing more personal than a handmade present is one you've made with your own hands... a personalised mug, a pot for jam or a pretty jug for a friend or family member is bound to go down well!

Suitable for early to intermediate throwers, the aim of this two day workshop is to improve accuracy and consistency in throwing batches of small vessels on Saturday, and to trim and finish them with handles, spouts or lids on Sunday after overnight drying. They can be decorated immediately using simple and attractive slip techniques, ready to leave for glaze firing and collection a week later.

There will be a small additional firing fee per finished item.

Course fee: £125, including tea, coffee, and cake. Please bring lunch with you, or pop out to one of the many local pubs or cafes.

Five places are available. To book, or for more information, please contact me here
