My one-day workshops are aimed at adults and are usually held on Sundays from 10-5pm. They are an ideal gift as an introduction to throwing or for an improver seeking to extend their repertoire. Suggested levels of skill are detailed in each course description, and course numbers are limited to five to ensure plenty of individual tuition. The vouchers don’t expire.

The broad aim of my one-day workshops is to improve understanding of the throwing process and efficiency and consistency of throwing technique, ideally focusing on a particular form for the quickest progress. All while having fun, of course! Pots can be kept for further work and firing or treated as practice and recycled at the end of the day. Materials are included in the workshop cost; subsequent firing of work attracts a firing fee based on its weight.

On weekend and longer workshops the first day is spent throwing, followed by trimming, altering, joining if necessary and finishing with handles, spouts or lids after overnight drying. Pots can be decorated immediately using simple and attractive slip techniques, ready to leave for biscuit firing.
